New Video Class on Wool by Deb Robson

Deb Robson (co-author of the Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook) has a new online class via Craftsy called “Know Your Wool.”

The course is comprised of five segments, each of which is about fifteen to twenty minutes long, and you can watch each part on your own schedule.  “Know Your Wool” is a free class although you will need to create or sign in to a Craftsy account in order to select the class and participate.

Craftsy just released their first two spinning-specific classes along with Deb’s class – Spindling: From Fluff to Stuff for beginning spinners and Spinning Dyed Fibers for those who are a little more advanced and who are looking to get more “oomph” out of their yarn spun from hand dyed tops.

Webmistress Note: I will say that I’ve taken several paid and free classes via Craftsy and feel like they’re an excellent value.  Normal (i.e. paid) classes feature an interactive format, meaning you can watch the videos, use course handouts (including patterns) and interact with the course teacher via a dedicated class message board.  The video production is stellar and classes featuring well-known designers and teachers like Laura Nelkin, Stefanie Japel, Donna Druchunas and Betsy Hershberg make this a site worth checking out for taking classes at home.
