GUILD ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Dues Reminder: Membership dues will be collected at our February meeting. Dues are $10 and are payable by cash or check made out to “TVHG.” Please direct any questions to the treasurer, Erin Kelley.
Upcoming Guild Programs:
- February: Program: Show and Tell
- March: Program: Mitt(en) Challenge. The March 7th meeting will be “The Mitt Challenge” Knit, Crochet, Weave or Construct a pair of Mittens, Fingerless Mits or some variant of a glove from your hand spun yarn. This is not a competition, it is an opportunity to challenge yourself to create something “special” with your hand spun to share with our Guild members. We hope you will participate in this quick and easy challenge. Please mark your item with the type of fiber you used, the technique for spinning and plying (e.g. worsted, S spun, Z plied, two ply), the pattern you used for your project and the source and maybe how many oz. it took.
MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS
From Deborah Adams:
We have all the indoor vending spots sold and tents outside are booking…we have 27 people signed up for classes..if members are thinking about a class and have not signed up they need to do so. We have limits on the number in the classes. This is the first time we have had this much done at this early date…Just a reminder of vendors and members who want to display items for the month of March members will be able to put items in the Blount Library displaying the fiber festival…items must be labeled and not have a price…The first of April we can display in the glass cases at the Townsend visitors Center….the middle of March we will be able to set up a display at the US Bank in Townsend advertising the festival…so think about your items you want to display and give them to Lynn or Deborah and have them tagged with your business name or business card, especially if you are teaching we could post an item for that.. In the past Lynn Hash and I have taken from our stash and just put things out but we have more display areas than we have stock so please help with this.
